There are many good reasons to pursue a nursing career in Pennsylvania. For one thing, it’s a valuable line of work that contributes to society. You’ll feel good knowing that you are able to help others stay alive and healthy. You will also be well compensated for your work, earning an average nursing salary of $66,010 in the keystone state.

The nationwide nursing shortage is projected to reach its worst point in decades by the year 2025. About half of the nursing workforce is over the age of 50, and many of those older nurses are planning to retire in the near future. About a third of the workforce will need to be replaced in the next ten years, and there are not enough students to fill these openings. There is a big need for more students earning associate degrees in nursing (ADNs) and Bachelor of Science in Nursing, or BSN, degrees in America.

In your spare time, there's a lot to do in Pennsylvania. Philadelphia, the state capital, is one of the nation's most culturally significant cities. You can watch underground touring bands at Kung Fu Necktie, grab some famous cheesesteaks at Gino's, and see a piece of national history at the Liberty Bell.
